On Equilibrium Allocations as Distributions on the Commodity Space*

چکیده
It is shown that the distribution of agents’ characteristics is a concise and accurate description of an economy as far as Walrasian equilibrium analysis for large economies is concerned: Let 8 be an exchange economy; W(8), the set of Walras allocations for 8; and g?(8), the set of distributions on the commodity space of the allocations in W(8). It is shown that for two atomless economies 8, and b, which have the same distribution of agents’ characteristics, the sets SIV(&,) and 2@W(b,) have the same closure. For every distribution ,u of agents’ characteristics is defined a standard representation B”, and it is shown that S’W(@) is closed. Further, the correspondence p H gW(&‘) is shown to be upper hemicontinuous.

Double implementation of linear cost share equilibrium allocations
In this paper we consider the problem of double implementation of Linear Cost Share Equilibrium (LCSE) allocations by a feasible and continuous mechanism whose Nash allocations and strong Nash allocations coincide with Linear Cost Share Equilibrium allocations. The mechanism presented here allows preferences and initial endowments as well as coalition patterns to be privately observed, a featur...
متن کاملThe market game : Existence and structure of equilibrium *
We analyze the canonical market game. There are e commodities, a single inside money, L markets in which commodities are exchanged for inside money, and n consumers. Each consumer’s strategy is the nonnegative vector of his commodity offers and his money bids. Given endowments and sufftciently large offers, the set of interior Nash equilibrium strategies is finite and non-empty. Hence the set o...
متن کاملMarkets with Many More Agents than Commodities: Aumann's "Hidden" Assumption
We address a question posed by J.-F. Mertens and show that, indeed, R. J. Aumann's classical existence and equivalence theorems depend on there being ``many more agents than commodities.'' We show that for an arbitrary atomless measure space of agents there is a fixed non-separable infinite dimensional commodity space in which one can construct an economy that satisfies all the standard assumpt...
متن کاملDepartment of Economics University of Vienna on Core-walras Equivalence in Banach Spaces When
The paper studies the core-Walras equivalence problem in the commodity space framework of Banach spaces, allocations being defined as Pettis integrable functions. In particular, a core-Walras equivalence result for a certain class of commodity spaces is established, without requiring that the commodity space be separable. The class covered by this result includes the Lp(μ) spaces, 1 ≤ p < ∞, μ ...
متن کاملSome Results on Equilibrium Distributions
The equilibrium distributions have many applications in reliability theory, stochastic orderings and random processes. The purpose of this paper is to introduce the equilibrium distributions and presents some results related to this issue. Some results are based on order statistics. In this paper, the generalized Pareto distributions are also analyzed and some basic relationships between t...
